Karwa Chauth is Observed on Wednesday 19th October in 2016. Karwa Chauth is celebrated on 4th day of Krishna Paksha or dark-fortnight in the month of Kartik. It is observed mostly in October or November. Karva Chauth is observed by the Married Women. Karva Chauth is being fasting thought the day should not taking drop of water. Karva Chauth begins with the Sunrise and it ends with the Moon rise. Women's observe this fast for her husband's well-being, prosperity and longevity. Women specially pray to Goddess Gowri (Parvathi). It is traditional for the Sargi (mostly consisting of grains and fruits) to be sent or given to the woman by her mother-in-law. Procedure on Karwa Chauth :
Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and their son God Kartikeya are worshiped on this day along with the Karvas (earthen pots) filled with sweets. In the evening This Karvas will be exchanged between neighbors who are observing fast. In The Evening Woman's Observe Puja while During puja, elders narrate the stories of Karva Chauth and women sing songs relating to Karva Chauth. When moon appears, prayers are offered to the moon Then fasting women's first sees the moon through a sieve then Their husband's face. After Seeing through sieve husband's brings a plate and offers her Firstly water will be drinked then the sweet and food to break her fast. Generally Red or pink Saree will be preferred. Newly married woman wears the wedding dress and ornaments. Karva Chauth preparation will be started before few days of the actual festival means sweets preparation and Sargi.
